The Office of Budget and Financial Management is responsible for formulating and prescribing University-wide budget and financial management policies, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and statements and fiscal policies, procedures and systems of controls. Its primary function is to manage the budgetary and financial operations of the University. It is responsible for the development, issuance and maintenance of all financial manuals and related directives. These directives may come from the Board of Trustees, the President, the Provost, the Central Administration Committee or the Finance and Administration Council.

UB’s Director of Finance, Sherlene Julien, places great emphasis on the department’s responsibility to establish and maintain adequate financial controls and security of the university’s assets. Equally important is the division’s supportive role to the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, and community clients.

The Office of Budget & Finance aims to provide timely and accurate financial reporting to aid the decision-making process. The division is also a proud supporter of professional development of its staff to promote growth and foster an atmosphere of synergy for greater job satisfaction. The division is responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Procurement, and Financial Reporting with staffing of 23 employees.
