Types of Activities
Academic Staff Research Series

The Academic Staff Research Series is a platform for UB based faculty to engage audiences with discussions on their current research interests. The presenters have all volunteered to represent their faculties or institutes. They chose their topic and style of presentation. The opinions they express are theirs, and not necessarily those of the University. Academic staff are defined as academic professionals who are responsible for planning, directing, supporting, or undertaking academic teaching and research within the HE (Higher Educational) institutions. They also include vice-Presidents, medical practitioners, and other health care professionals, laboratory and field technicians, and other qualified staff who may undertake lecturing or research activities.
Graduate Studies Research Series

The Graduate Research Series is an enriching platform dedicated to empowering graduate students in the Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Master of Educational Leadership (MEDL), and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. It provides a valuable opportunity for students to present their research ideas, proposals, and progress to a broader audience, fostering a culture of intellectual exchange and collaboration. Launched in March 2024, the series began with inspiring presentations from the inaugural MPhil group, setting the stage for ongoing dialogue and innovation. By participating, students gain critical feedback, build confidence, and connect with peers and mentors, contributing to the advancement of their academic and professional journeys.
Graduate Students’ Meetings and Advisings

The University of Belize is proud to support its faculty members actively engaged in pursuing doctoral studies through a dedicated monthly forum. Established in August 2023, this initiative creates a supportive space where faculty members can connect, share their research progress, and discuss the unique challenges that come with the doctoral journey. The forum serves as a collaborative platform for exchanging ideas, addressing obstacles, and exploring strategies to overcome setbacks, fostering a sense of community and mutual encouragement among participants. By participating in these sessions, faculty members not only receive constructive feedback and practical advice but also contribute to a culture of academic excellence and professional growth within the University.
Research Advising

The Research Office at the University of Belize serves as a dedicated resource center where students, graduate students, and faculty members can engage in meaningful discussions about their research ideas. Open to the entire UB community, it offers personalized guidance on refining research concepts, developing methodologies, navigating ethical considerations, and exploring potential funding opportunities. By fostering an environment that encourages intellectual collaboration and innovation, the Research Office underscores the University’s commitment to cultivating a thriving research culture and empowering individuals to pursue impactful academic and professional projects.
