Mission
The mission of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at the University of Belize Hummingbird Analytical Laboratory is to provide high quality, accurate and reliable analytical work and results that will foster research and monitoring in the agricultural, environmental and industrial sector.

The vision of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at the University of Belize Hummingbird Analytical Laboratory is to provide advanced analytical testing to meet the needs of institutional, national and international stakeholders through scholarly research and laboratory capacity.
Equipment Available

Quantitative analysis of total mercury in water, soil and food samples using the Milestone Direct Mercury Analyzer (DMA-80 evo).

Identification and quantification of pesticides (organochlorines and organophosphates) in water, soil and biota using the Agilent Gas Chromatography Instrument with ECD and FPD.

Quantitative analysis for nutrients in water samples using HACH DR6000 Spectrophotometer.

Detection and Analysis of microplastic, pharmaceuticals, forensic materials, and other essential materials using the LUMOS II Miro-FTIR.
