Black Jaguar Athletic Scholarship Program
The University of Belize offers a total of 45 sports scholarships, equally distributed across six varsity sports for both male and female athletes. These scholarships are designed to support exceptional student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding performance in their sport while maintaining academic excellence.
Please note: Applicants must be accepted into a UB academic program to be eligible.
Application Procedure
- Attend an open tryout between the months of May-July for your varsity sport of choice.
- Get selected by the UB Head Coach and receive an invitation to apply.
- Participate in an interview and go through the Scholarship Committee selection process.
- Receive a scholarship offer if selected.
Scholarship Requirements
- Maintain GPA of 2.5
- 40 Volunteer hours for UB Community Events
- Mandatory Strength & Conditioning Sessions
- Mandatory Sport Training Sessions
Eligibility Criteria
- High athletic achievement in at least one varsity sport.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 (or its equivalent).
- Values aligned with those of a high-performing university athlete.
